Mobile Glass History
President, Mobile Glass, Inc.
In 1960, my Dad, a father to 6, was employed at Hoffer’s Glass. He started doing side jobs after work, in order to earn some extra money. He traveled late at night and early in the mornings to farms all over Wisconsin, repairing farmers’ tractor windshields. He called his traveling business: “Mobile Glass”.
By the time my Dad incorporated in 1964, he had expanded to residential mirrors and windows as well as glass and aluminum commercial storefronts. The business did so well, just 4 years in, my Dad brought on a partner and employees, which grew this business over the next 50 years as a reputable industry leader in glazing.
While I worked for my father many years during my childhood, along with other family members, I officially began my formal training to take over Mobile Glass from my father in 2006.
In 2014, I officially became President of Mobile Glass and consequently the first female CEO in my family. Since then, Mobile Glass has also received certifications from the State of Wisconsin and the City of Madison as a Woman’s Business Enterprise (WBE). The City of Madison also certified Mobile Glass as a Small Business Enterprise (SBE).
50% of Mobile Glass’ current workforce was also my Father’s workforce, which translates into a profound amount of experience in the Glass Industry and our training program has proven to exceed our competition.
Meet my fellow colleagues below. I feel very lucky to know these people. I am confident that once you meet them in person, you will quickly determine that it is not just their experience that is refreshing, but their down home values and their “can do” attitudes are surprisingly rare!
